Bill Description:
This legislation amends the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to formally define the term “evidence-based” and require federally-funded workforce programs to prioritize evidence-based interventions.
Evidence provisions:
- Inserts three-tier evidence definition directly into federal workforce law: Strong (experimental), Moderate (quasi-experimental) and Promising (correlational with selection bias controls);
- Requires states "describe strategies to prioritize funding of evidence-based programs."
